Publisher review:VLC Media Player, is a open source media player, that can play almost all audio and video formats and network streams proposed for WebTV, all without having to download anything else. Finally, the Mac version is adorned with a new interface, available in two colors.
VLC is without a doubt the best / video currently available and, most importantly, it is free audio players. VLC has since become a reference in the field of free audio and video players.
Actively developed by the community, VLC passes the version 2.0 (named "Twoflower") and now offers many features and a more pleasant interface (including and especially on Mac).
VLC supports many audio and video formats including high-definition and has many hardware acceleration options, including via the graphics card as well as optimization for multi-core systems (for decoding codecs such as H.264, WebM or Xvid).
Also VLC handles extensions and skins. We have two types of extensions, the first objective will be to retrieve video content, audio and subtitles on the Internet, the second offer the ability to access additional contextual information.
Note management subtitles independent definition video content posted and by far the most effective against all competitors, and the management of filters significantly improved video quality (noise removal, solids, converting playback rate, stabilization).
Finally add that VLC gets to BluRay, which will, for now only partially managed (no support for menus).
Operating system:Mac OS X 10.6 or later
